QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

     Education and/or Experience

     Required:   Knowledge of the purpose of the school nursing program within the State of Arizona

                        Knowledge of general nursing procedures

                        Ability to drive a car, possess current driver’s license

                        Understanding, patient and tactful with students and parents

                        Knowledge of community health and social problem resources

                        Registered nurse with current Arizona license

                        Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and administrators

                        Current CPR and First Aide certification

                        IVP Fingerprint Card

      * Knowledge of the following:

  1. The total District health program
  2. Specific school nursing responsibilities
  3. Factors influencing the learning process
  4. Public health principles
  5. Health education and public relations

  *Ability to:

  1. Interpret and carry out the district student health program
  2. Cooperate and work effectively with students, parents, faculty and community
  3. Make sound judgements and decisions in a wide variety of situations under pressure
