Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Perform secretarial duties for the assistant principal of the school in a pleasant and efficient manner; maintain complete and accurate student accounting records. Aid in the efficient operation of the school
  • Perform routine clerical and secretarial duties
  • Establish and maintain files (physical and computer) on students who have been referred to the assistant principal for disciplinary purposes
  • Maintain computer records of disciplinary actions taken by teachers
  • Request assignments for in school suspension
  • Establish and maintain files for each student participating in a sports program
  • Establish weekly eligibility listing for all sports
  • Notify parents/guardians of students’ ineligibility each week
  • Confirm all sports schedules
  • Make travel arrangements for away games
  • Confirm referee assignments for home games
  • Arrange for payments for referees and security staff for home games
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities
  • Serve as back up for Principal’s Secretary and Receptionist in their absence
  • Direct the flow of traffic through the office
  • Advise parents of school policies and procedures
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Perform additional duties efficiently and willingly, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

     Education and/or Experience

     Required:  

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Good command of business English and ability to write letters using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Knowledge of office procedures and basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Knowledge of the operation of standard office machines
  • Ability to communicate with others in a clear and precise manner and work cooperatively and tactfully with students, staff and public even in times of great stress
  • Respect for confidentiality of records, correspondence and conferences
  • Ability to relate to the public, staff and students in a positive manner

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts.

 

Reasoning ability

Ability to apply principles of reason and logic for problem-solving purposes.
